About Add Watermark to PDF
This tool adds a text watermark (like "CONFIDENTIAL" or "SAMPLE") or a logo image to every page of a PDF at once. Because the watermark is drawn directly onto the existing page content rather than rendering the page as an image, the original text, vectors, and quality of your PDF stay completely intact — the watermark is simply layered on top. A live preview updates automatically as you adjust position, rotation, opacity, and size. All processing happens locally in your browser; your file is never uploaded to a server.
Tips for a Watermark That Actually Protects Your Document
A single small watermark tucked in a corner is easy to crop out of a page, so for genuine protection, the Tiled (Repeated) position — the same watermark repeated diagonally across the whole page — is far more effective, since removing it would require editing every repetition. A moderate opacity (around 20–35%) usually works best: strong enough to be clearly visible and hard to casually remove, without making the underlying document difficult to read. Keep in mind that no watermark applied this way is fully tamper-proof against someone determined and skilled with PDF editing tools — its main value is deterring casual reuse and clearly marking a document's status (like a draft or confidential copy), not making removal technically impossible.
