This tool lets you draw a signature with your mouse or touchscreen — or upload a photo or scan of your handwritten signature — and place it anywhere on a page of a PDF document. Uploaded signature images have their background automatically removed so they blend cleanly onto the page. A live positioning preview lets you drag your signature to the exact spot you want before applying it. All processing happens locally in your browser; your file and signature never leave your device.
This Is a Visual Signature, Not a Legal Digital Signature
It's worth understanding exactly what this tool does and doesn't do. What it produces is a picture of a signature — whether drawn by hand or uploaded — placed on top of a PDF page, similar to stamping ink on paper. This is not the same as a cryptographic digital signature, which uses a certificate and private key to mathematically bind a signature to the exact content of a document, allowing anyone to verify who signed it and detect if it was altered afterward. A visual signature stamp offers none of those guarantees: it can't prove who actually placed it, and someone could copy the image and paste it onto another document just as easily. For everyday internal use — signing off on a draft, approving something within your team, or personal documents — this kind of visual signature is often perfectly fine. For contracts, legal agreements, or anything requiring enforceability and identity verification, you should use a proper certified e-signature platform instead.
