About Markdown to PDF Converter
This tool converts Markdown text — headings, bold and italic text, lists, block quotes, code blocks, links, and tables — into a polished PDF with clean, elegant typography designed for comfortable reading, similar to a nicely formatted book or report. Upload a .md file or paste your Markdown directly, adjust the page size and margin, preview the result, then download. All processing happens locally in your browser; your content is never uploaded to a server.
How This Works, and What to Expect
This tool first converts your Markdown into styled HTML, then renders that HTML the way a browser would display it and places a high-resolution image of the result into a PDF — the same underlying approach used by this site's HTML to PDF converter. This is a deliberate trade-off: reliably producing selectable text while handling arbitrary document styling is a much harder problem to solve entirely in the browser, and a faithful image-based result is more dependable than one that risks looking broken.
In practice, this means the text in your PDF cannot be selected, searched, or copied, and the file will be somewhat larger than a text-based PDF. All standard Markdown syntax — headings, emphasis, lists, block quotes, code blocks, links, and tables — is fully supported and renders with the elegant styling built into this tool; raw HTML embedded inside your Markdown will also render, though very complex or unusual HTML may not always appear exactly as intended.
