About HTML Tags Stripper / Remover
This tool removes all HTML tags from a block of code or content copied from a webpage, leaving only the plain, readable text behind — handy for pasting web content into a plain text editor, a text message, or anywhere formatting isn't wanted. Paste your HTML and the cleaned result updates automatically. All processing happens locally in your browser; your content is never uploaded to a server.
How This Works
Rather than trying to strip tags with a simple pattern match — which is unreliable for real-world HTML, since tags can be nested, malformed, or contain tricky characters — this tool hands the HTML to the browser's own built-in HTML parser to read it safely, the same engine that renders ordinary web pages, but without actually displaying anything or running any embedded scripts. Any <script> and <style> content is removed along with the surrounding text they'd otherwise leave behind, and HTML entities like & or < are automatically converted back to normal characters. With "Preserve paragraph & line breaks" enabled, paragraphs, headings, and list items are converted to readable line breaks before the tags are removed, so the output roughly keeps the original text's structure instead of running everything together into one block.
