About Random Line Selector / Picker
This tool picks one or more random winners from a list — paste in participant names, ticket numbers, or any list of entries (one per line), choose how many winners to draw, and press the button. If you ask for more than one winner, every winner drawn is guaranteed to be a different entry — nobody gets picked twice in the same draw. All processing happens locally in your browser; your list is never uploaded to a server.
How Fairness Works
A surprisingly common mistake in random pickers is shuffling a list by sorting it with a random comparison function — this looks random at a glance, but is mathematically proven to be biased, favoring some orderings over others depending on the sorting algorithm used internally. This tool instead uses the Fisher-Yates shuffle, the standard, well-established algorithm for producing a genuinely uniform random shuffle, where every possible ordering of your list is equally likely. Before drawing, this tool's shuffling was verified statistically across tens of thousands of trials to confirm every entry has an equal chance of being picked, rather than just assumed to be fair.
