About Word Frequency Counter
This tool analyzes a block of text and shows which words appear most often, along with each word's density — its share of the total word count, shown as a percentage. It's useful for reviewing an article or webpage's content before publishing, checking whether a target keyword appears often enough (or too often), or simply seeing what a piece of writing is really about at a glance. Common words like "the", "a", and "is" can optionally be filtered out so they don't crowd out more meaningful results. All processing happens locally in your browser; your text is never uploaded to a server.
About Keyword Density
Keyword density is the percentage of times a specific word or phrase appears in a piece of text relative to its total word count — a page with 100 words where "coffee" appears 3 times has a 3% keyword density for that word. It was once treated as an important, tunable SEO metric, on the theory that repeating a target keyword more often would signal relevance to search engines. Modern search engines are considerably more sophisticated than that today, understanding meaning, synonyms, and context rather than just counting exact keyword repetitions, so chasing a specific density percentage is no longer a meaningful optimization strategy on its own. That said, this kind of analysis still has real, practical value: it's a quick way to sanity-check that your content naturally covers the topic it's supposed to be about, and to spot accidental over-repetition of a word that can make writing feel clumsy or robotic to actual readers.
