About URL Tracking Parameter Stripper

Many links you copy from social media, search results, or marketing emails carry hidden tracking parameters in the query string — things like utm_source, fbclid (Facebook's click identifier), gclid (Google Ads), and msclkid (Microsoft Ads). These don't change which page loads; they exist purely so the platform that generated the link can attribute your click back to a specific campaign, ad, or session. This tool parses the URL with the browser's native URL API and removes any parameter matching a curated list of known tracking identifiers — the full utm_ family, major ad-platform click IDs, and common analytics/email-campaign tokens from services like Mailchimp, HubSpot, and Matomo.

Only parameters that match known tracking patterns are removed — functional parameters like ?page=3, ?id=42, or a search query like ?q=shoes are left untouched, since removing those would actually break the link or change what loads. The page fragment (anything after a #) is always preserved.

All cleaning happens locally in your browser — the URLs you paste are never sent anywhere, which matters if you're cleaning a link from a private email or an internal document before sharing it.
