About Pomodoro Timer
This tool helps you boost productivity using the Pomodoro Technique — alternating focused work sessions with short breaks. Customize the length of your focus sessions and breaks, track how many sessions you complete each day, and get an optional sound or desktop notification when a session ends. Everything runs locally in your browser; no account or data collection required.
How the Pomodoro Technique Works
Developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s, the Pomodoro Technique breaks work into focused intervals — traditionally 25 minutes — called "pomodoros," each followed by a short break, typically 5 minutes. After completing four pomodoros, you take a longer break, usually 15–30 minutes, before starting the cycle again. The technique works by making time a visible, tangible constraint: knowing a short break is coming makes it easier to resist distractions during the focus period, while the recurring breaks help prevent mental fatigue over a long work session.
